Our goals for 2012.
When we endeavor to learn something new, whether it be learning to play an instrument or surfing. We have have high expectations what ever it be that we are learning. We also have a very focused approach, “Yes I will stand up on that surfboard”. We practice and practice with high expectations and a very focused approach. This concept transfers to Marsden High for our 2012 goals and we are striving to improve the achievements of all our students. We have high expectations of our students and we are focused on all our students improving to achieve well beyond their personal best, in particularly we are very focused on literacy and numeracy through the development of quality teaching.
To my students, show courage, have high expectations for yourself and have a focused approach to all tasks you undertake in 2012. You deserve great results with this approach.
OUR Year 9 2012 are all connected to engage in quality learning with their learning devices.
An outstanding meeting was held for all year 9 students and their parents last Monday Night to be briefed in the responsibilities of their new silver netbooks. They are great machines and already Year 9 are engaging in all types of new lessons with their teachers. The netbooks are learning devices which are intermixed with in a lesson, this is called blended learning. Well done Year 9!
Celebrating our world partnerships and our opportunities
This week has been a celebration of the wonderful opportunities our school provides for our wonderful students.
•Korean Sister school visit, perform and build wonderful friendships with our students and parents. I travelled with our students and the Korean students to Taronga Zoo on Saturday. Marsden High Students were the perfect hosts.

•Our outstanding school Captains and SRC are presented with their Blazers in an official assembly with the Korean Sister school visit.
•The Deputy Director General, the Regional Director have selected Marsden to Visit on the 8th March as they have heard we are great school who is doing some special projects with our wonderful students, including ‘Becoming Asia Literate’ project, Imagination First Gifted Initiative for the north Sydney Region.
•Our Ancient history students prepare their final itinerary for ITALY in the April holidays ‘Grazie’ ‘Prego’. We will hear about their adventures in our Marsden Mail next term.

Lastly, please join our wonderful P & C who are an immense support to the prosperity and future of our school. The P & C meet the last Tuesday each month 7.30pm, in the library.
And the final word, I have a strong belief in the quality and authentic education our students receive at Marsden High School, and clearly as an investment, it is a smart decision, unlike some high fee paying schools, who don’t deliver the same quality and authentic experience. Paying high fees for something dose not make it better.
Quality teaching is the difference in NSW Public schools.
